Johanna Miceli appointed new Vice Chair for SACC Houston

Johanna Miceli, originally from Malmö, Sweden, is taking on the new role as Vice Chair for SACC Houston. But she will also be working with different Projects, Communications and Events. Here you can read more about her plans and what she misses the most about Malmö and Skåne, while living here in Houston.

What is your first impression of SACC Texas?
The first meeting with SACC Texas was a great Padel and Pickleball Tournament in the Woodlands. It was great fun and we quickly made new friends. My husband Baxley and I felt warmly welcomed into the community and quickly became involved in the organization. It is a mixture of social networking and professional knowledge that creates
opportunities. As we are in the process of establishing the consulting company Great IT in the American market, our aim was to become members of SACC Texas to gain access to a professional network in Texas with connections to Sweden and the USA. In a short amount of time, it has provided both close friendships and rewarding business meetings.

What are your plans for SACC Texas in the near future?
I look forward to getting to know all the members, getting to know how the organization works here in Texas., and looking at how we can have more rewarding collaborations between Sweden and the U.S.

In order to gain more insight into the expectations of SACC Texas members, a questionnaire will be sent out shortly. This feedback will then help continue working to create added value for members. We will also be inviting members a Family Day on May 7 at our home in Kingwood. SACC Texas and SWEA members are warmly welcome to contact me for more information.

What do you miss the most about Malmö and Skåne, as living here in Houston?
I think what I miss the most is the beautiful south coast with the sparkling sea, family, and close friends. The head office for Great IT is in Malmö, which means that there are often trips between Houston and Skåne. I study behavioral science remotely, which makes us flexible with where we work from. We have now lived here in Houston for a while and are really enjoying it. Life and the environment here is very family-friendly with a good school, large green areas, warm climate, training activities and fantastically nice people. What I really appreciate here is the time I get with the family and play tennis all year round.
