Meet Victoria Andersen new board member at SACC Houston

Victoria is taking on the role of Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships. From that platform, she would like to jointly create new business opportunities for Sweden and Swedes in this great hub and promote Swedish culture to the locals.

Please tell us a bit about yourself?
I am a Swedish-Latvian citizen who grew up in Northern Europe but spent most of my adult life in Switzerland. I am probably one of the most multicultural people you have met – lived in seven countries, traveled to 70, and speak eight languages. Education-wise, I hold two Master’s degrees and have recently completed an executive program at INSEAD. My professional focus is on integrated marketing and international business development. I started my career at TeliaSonera in Stockholm. Since then, I have worked for various leading multinationals, primarily in the technology and consulting sectors in Geneva, New York, and Singapore. I am in Houston at HP Inc. as the Global Head of Brand Communications. Married to a Dane, I enjoy discovering the US, skiing, improving Mandarin, and promoting Nordic traditions abroad in my limited downtime.

What are you going to do as a board member for SCC Houston?
While in Geneva, I was in charge of Nordic Club Switzerland for many years, and in that capacity, I was actively collaborating with the Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce. In my new role at SACC Texas as a VP of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, I would like to leverage my experience from my previous engagements and support the board in making a more substantial footprint of the Chamber in Houston. I want to create new business opportunities for Sweden and Swedes in this great hub and promote Swedish culture to the locals.

What would you say is the best thing about living in Houston?
Friendly, welcoming people, multicultural cuisine of a high standard, and proximity to various sightseeing places.
