Ericsson opens a design center in Texas

Ericsson opens a design center in Austin. The focus will be on microelectronics and accelerating the commercialization of 5G.

According to the press release, the design center is already open and recruitment of staff is under way. The aim is to have 80 employees by mid-2018.

“Together with our ASIC design teams in Sweden and China, we will make faster, better and greener 5G products to expand Ericsson’s 2019 portfolio,” says Sinisa Krajnovic, Development Manager for Unit Networks.

ASIC stands for Application Specific Integrated Circuit and is an integrated circuit that has a specific function.
